DRIFT implements the broadcast (Direct) Remote ID methods of the ASTM F3411 standard: the Bluetooth 4, Bluetooth 5 Long Range, Wi-Fi Beacon and Wi-Fi NAN transport encodings of its message set. Regional rules that mandate drone Remote ID reference this standard, for example the FAA’s Means of Compliance (F3586) in the United States and prEN 4709-002 (Direct Remote ID) in the European Union.
